I remember my grandmother pulling out her gota dupattas with the most beautiful kinnari and draping it delicately over her hear when heading out to the Gurudwara or for a special occasion.

In her days the gota was made of real gold and silver and shone brilliantly with her every move. The gota patterns were painstakingly drawn by hand on the fabric before the gota would be attached.

The gota on our saree isn't made of gold or silver but it still is reminiscent of the gota on my Grandmas dupatta. The hladi yellow georgette forms a beautiful canvas and allows the silver gota pattern to shine through. The edges of the saree are adorned with a dull sequin border that has a shimmer of its own.
