Pen Kalamkari is an ancient art form that brings stories to life on a canvas of fabric. Pen Kalamkari is often used to depict deities and scenes taken from the Hindu epics - Ramayana and Mahabharata.
This saree is completely hand painted using natural colours and dyes, which gives it the unique Earthy tones and textures. The beautiful figures on the saree have been painted by hand on a deep magical blues.
The kalamkari border of this saree is its highlight - it depicts a very traditional motifs in shades of blues and rouge. The body of the saree is solid coloured mashru silk, to allow the kalamkari with all its hand work to shine through.
