'Rust & Rose' Ajrakh Bandhani Hand Made Saree

The 'Rust & Rose' Ajrakh & Bandhani Modal Silk Saree is soft to touch, has a delicate sheen and is beautiful to drape. It is a unique one of a kind saree with hand knotted Bandhani on the body and hand block printed Ajrakh in rich deep colours on the pallu.

The saree is created with a lot of love and prescision using 2 beautiful techniques of Bandhani and Ajrakh which requires multi level dyeing and printing processes. The  intricate pattern is dotted on the saree. Once the markings are in place, the artisan and his entire family work together to wrap thread around each dot. The fabric is then dyed in colour. Once dry, the threads are unwrapped, creating a beautifully intricate pattern with base colour and the top colour.

The pallu has then been hand block printed in traditional Ajrakh pattern, in deep colours of blue, maroon and black, to create a striking contrast and a beautiful effect.

The saree truly is a labour of love.

We worked with our artisans to create sarees that are a burst of colour, they are modern, strong and make a statement while still honouring the art and the artisan and the love they put into each Bandhani saree.

NOTE : Each saree has been created with a lot of love, by hand. Hence, the saree may have some imperfections and colour bleed. We feel these imperfections are testimony of the work that has gone into it and hence make them more beautiful.
