The Art Behind the Fabric

The kurta features large, bold Bandhani motifs — a departure from the fine dot-work of traditional Bandhani, these are statement medallions hand-knotted and hand-dyed to create dramatic sunburst patterns in orange, gold and deep maroon. Each motif is tied individually, the thread wrapped tight before the fabric takes its dye bath, then unwrapped to reveal the spectacular resist-dyed pattern beneath.
